Face Painting Frequently Asked Questions

My base rate for a private function is $100/hour. However, there are different rates for different events. Factors such as the number of people expected to be painted, the number of hours, and travel distance can affect the total fee you would be charged.
Yes, I can do an event where my pay is based on a “Pay per face” option.
This depends on the complexity of the designs. In general, no more than 10-15 people in an hour. If you need more people, we can discuss using simpler designs or extending the time. If you have an event where you want a large number of people painted, we can discuss bringing multiple face painters.
Approximately ten feet by ten feet for myself. If you expect a line at your event, please plan for a space for that. Multiple artists will require more space, of course.
Yes, absolutely! Birthday parties are wonderful, and the guest of honor gets extra attention.
Yes! I have water resistant face paint available for your outdoor or hot weather event! These are generally simpler designs, but they won't come off right away in the water or when you sweat. Glitter tattoos are also a great addition for a pool party.
Yes! Theme events can be fun. I do request a two-week notification for special theme requests.
I use several brands of professional face paint products. All products I use have been designed for professional use and comply with FDA cosmetic regulations. (This includes paint, powders, and glitters.)
Standard face paint is water activated and can be removed with soap and water and a washcloth. Waterproof face paint can be removed with liquid soap (applied without water) or a plant-based oil such as coconut oil. Waterproof paints are alcohol based, so they can also be removed with rubbing alcohol.
As with any cosmetics, some people may have sensitivity to one or more of the ingredients. We are not responsible for such reactions. If you have a concern regarding reactions, please discuss with me before having paint applied. Ask for a patch test ½ hour in advance.
I will not paint anyone who, in my sole opinion, appears to be suffering from: Cold sores, conjunctivitis, any infectious skin complaint, flu-like symptoms, open wounds or similar. I will not paint a child who is under duress. I will not paint an adult who presents a threat.
